This book is grandly-sized and just overall a great production.The cover is thick, the paper is heavy (and near the end, even thicker and textured almost like canvas), and the inks are deeply colored. Inside is extensive discussion of the man and his art, and it is filled with both large shots of entire paintings as well as a great number of detail shots at various scales. There are also a number of fold out pages that provide even wider views of particularly interesting sections.If you're a fan of Bruegel's work, this is definitely a strong book to consider. If you're a fan of well-made books just for the sake of bookcraft, it also a good choice.

Beautiful is not a big enough description for this book. The colors, the size, the details, all of it is so overwhelming. I have a lot of art books, but this by far is my favorite. Amazon also has the best price.
In typical Taschen fashion, this book is stunning. Some of the author's commentary on the paintings is a bit of a stretch though.
I received this for Christmas and it is a most impressive volume. With art books, the bigger the better in order to appreciate the art works depicted. And Bruegel has more to appreciate than many artists. A brilliant artist with an inspiring volume to match. (A side note, if you have an opportunity to watch the film "The Mill and the Cross", do so. It may confuse at first but it rewards your attention and thought just as Bruegel's paintings do.) Very happy.
