I was hoping for an exploded view of rifle and tolerances and measurements. also a chapter on buying extra stuff like ammo vests. I give it 2 stars just because the first and last chapters were interesting.

I purchased for my 2 1/2 year old grandson. He loves skeletons. He takes this book everywhere. It has nice pictures and is a great opportunity for interaction between adult and child.

This is an excellent book! Its very fun and educational! My five year old enjoys it and so do I. I thought it was such a great book that I purchased it for a book exchange at a birthday party. The following day the parent who's child received it raved about the book they received without knowing we were the ones that had purchased it. I highly recommend this book!

Awesome book! My preschooler was very interested in skeletons, so I bought this for her. She loved it! I love the hard cover version. It has pictures of actual skeletons from different animals (including the human). Plus some of the pages extend out to give you larger pictures. The book shows comparisons of different parts on different animals. Lots of facts! Great book to add to your library!

My 4 and 6 yr old grandkids really enjoyed this and go back to it often.

For my 6 yr old grandson. He asked for a book about bones, couldn't find one at any bookstore (?!) and I was thrilled to find this. He and his daddy LOVED it, perfect book for children to learn about all different kinds of bones. Great experience with seller, right at Christmas and still came promptly - one bookstore would have ordered it but it would have cost more than the book + shipping here and wouldn't have arrived as quickly.

Craig Smith is a construction management professional whose visits to see the Great Pyramid piqued his interest in how a massive project like this was built.Using modern CM tools, he has convinved me, also a construction person, that this pyramid was built using the best construction methods and, having the superior contractors, engineers, and architects that Egypt had 4600 years ago, the pyramid was completed in just 8 years. Some of the highlights of the book are: the workers were not slaves, all the materials furnished were "just in time," and a Necropolis more enormous than the pyramid was built next to it, and hardly a trace remains.

The reader will have one question in mind after finishing "How the Great Pyramid Was Built": is this a book about Ancient Egypt, utilizing the tools of project management? Or a book about project management, using the Great Pyramid as an extended example? However, the answer is probably moot. Both project managers and Egyptophiles will gain excellent insights from reading Craig Smith's book. Dr. Zahi Hawass, the director of the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt, provides the foreword. The analysis of the necessary infrastructure and the organization of the workforce is throrough and engrossing.This book is not for the alternative theorist, but rather for the historically- and archaeologically-minded reader. One minor quibble: Smith appears to assume that the Egyptians knew that a triangle with sides of unit length 3, 4, and 5 would form a right triangle, whereas Richard Gillings (Mathematics in the Time of the Pharaohs) firmly rejects this notion. Still, they would seem to have had some sort of square or carpenter's ell. The first chapter, a general historical survey of ancient Egypt, does not add anything new, but is a good reminder for the casual reader and serves to anchor the building of the Great Pyramid in its historical era. All in all, a fascinating analysis that belongs on the shelves of both project managers and those interested in Egypt's most famous monument.

This is a very interesting and thoughtful book. In largepart, it is engaging and well written, and the author hasdone a lot of background research, analysis, and carefulthinking. The book presents very interesting material, andcarefully justified speculations.In the end, I find the ramp scenario implausible, at leastas the major method of lifting most of the stones. There areseveral reasons for my skepticism, but one is this: theauthor's ramp scenario involves, for example (cf. p. 182) atcourse 9, 34 teams side by side, 12 teams in sequence, and42 laborers per team, for a total of 34x12x42=17,136 men onthe ramp at one time ... this sounds rather impractical.Unless I've misunderstood, there is also an importanttechnical error in the analysis: On p. 211 it is mentionedparenthetically that the author assumed friction increased therequired force by 50%, and a footnote explains thatthis arises from assuming a friction coefficient 0.5. Butthis friction coefficient would mean that the friction forceis half the normal force, which for the assumed slope of 1:6is close to the weight of the block. So the friction forceis about half the weight, whereas the tangential componentof the gravitational force is around 1/6 the weight.That is, rather than 50 percent more work, friction adds300 percent more work.

Honestly, there are so many As Seen On TV products that really have not worked for the better for the dollar. In the case with the ones for cooking, they have worked nicely. The Power Pressure Cooker XL has been one of the most innovative devices that I have seen made with simplicity & convenience. Especially when most people haven't used regular pressure cookers for the stovetop. But trying to see that there can be a good cookbook for pressure cookers, is a much harder task. The Complete Power Pressure Cooker XL Cookbook is actually alright & has a lot of great recipes that do work for time, convenience & durability. However, there is one major disadvantage to the cookbook that doesn't make it strong enough compared to other cookbooks on the market. You do not have any picture of the dishes that you are trying to prepare from the cookbook in there. So you do not know how the food will come out after it is prepared. While it does give good recipes for pasta dishes, rice dishes & meat dishes, it could've gone in a bit more with making seafood & deserts that also can be made in the cooker. But considering that there are so few cookbooks for the As Seen On TV items, or for electric pressure cookers overall, this is a fair start for anyone that has bought a electric pressure cooker.Price: C+Displays & Content: B-Overall: C+

I've tried 3 recipes from this book. All 3 recipes were wrong, they ALL turned out incorrectly. I followed the recipes exactly. 2 were overdone, one to the point of being burned onto my cooker and inedible, the other salvaged with some extra liquid after the fact (so I basically had to cook it twice). The other was so underdone it took me over an hour of re-cooking it to get it right. The settings and timings are incorrect in the recipes. Example, one recipe told me to use the Soup/Stew setting for 8 minutes. The least amount of time available on this setting is 10 minutes. Another recipe told me to slow release the pressure in one sentence and the next sentence was to quick release the pressure. Yet another told me to use a setting that's not even on the device. Did anyone edit this book? Did anyone actually try the recipes before they printed this book? Is this book even for the Power Pressure Cooker XL or did they just slap that name on it? It was only $1, but I still want my money back! I certainly won't be using this book.

This cookbook had a lot of good and useful recipes to be made in the Power Pressure Cooker XL. It's hard to find any cookbooks that are specific to this pressure cooker (most are for the Instant Pot brand) and this is the best I've found so far. I would recommend.

So many recipes! Where to start. This is an excellent. Lol for beginners. I never knew all the things you could use this tool to do.

We got the cooker and cookbook to make meals in 15 minutes or less. There are virtually no meals you can make in less than 30-45 minutes. Meats needed to be seared in a pan or cooker prior to applying pressure. Very misleading . We returned both the book and the cooker.

Poorly organized. There is no index for finding recipes. The recipes don't sound very appealing to me and I was very disappointed with this purchase. I will probably never use this cookbook.
