Having had two sons my self, I find Sammy, is as curious, fun loving and sometimes even a little mischievous, as any healthy young boy that I've known. If I was to guess, either V Moua, has stayed wonderfully a child at heart, has at least one son that he's close to or a lot of both.As much as we use my Kindle, actually Amazon in general and understand the usefulness of reviews, I'm ashamed that it took a sweet 6 year old and a little red bird, to motivate me to start doing so.This is the first Sammy story we have purchased, however, since then we have purchased all of the Sammy adventure stories and truth be told, we each look forward to the next new book available, as much as the other, even though neither one of us, gets tired of reading the same stories over and over again.

This had me and my 5 year old son laughing. We have read several of this authors books and my kids love them all. The author definitely captures the nature of children! Great job!!

Excellent early reader series for kids just getting acquainted with chapter books. Genuine American history from a child's viewpoint. These are classics. Sturdy with colorful pictures and large font. My daughter already read them twice and asked for the next four in the series. Great coming of age stories about having good character and working hard to overcome difficulty. Builds the value of education into a child. Why can't modern children's authors write with this level of quality and character? You won't be disappointed.

This review is for the kindle edition set of the first five books in the series. These books are a great read, we already know that. I want to talk about the kindle experience of these books.I've been waiting for these to come out on kindle for awhile. The books separately are 8.99 as of now, and it's a little cheaper to buy this package of 5 books instead of doing it individually.My biggest complaint about this set is the navigation. I can easily choose which book to read from the "go to" kindle menu. But, after choosing the book you want to read, you cannot further navigate into the book by the table of contents. I also bought one of the little house books not included in this set, and this problem does not occur, I'm able to navigate to different chapters if I choose. I wish I had bought these books individually to avoid this annoyance, even if it would've been a little more expensive. If you don't care about this issue I would purchase this as I have found no issues with the content.The illustrations are all there as they are in the books, even the smaller illustrations at the beginning of each chapter.

My kids (ages 6-13) and I love The Little House series. We love to read about how American settlers of the West worked hard & persevered in spite of horrible circumstances—with their faith intact. Even though they physically worked harder to do daily tasks and produce goods as a family that we do not think twice about, they were probably happier and more fulfilled, and more mature at an earlier age than modern American families. Their values and character were stronger, simpler, & more wholesome than today’s Americans, too. We are better people just for having read all the Little House books. I recommend this series for children & adults to appreciate our modern conveniences, and to be inspired to live more simply, with more character, love, faith, & grit—just like Laura Ingalls Wilder’s family.

I loved these stories when I was growing up. I thought my grand daughter would enjoy them also - so I bought this set for her. But when it arrived, I just had to peek through and found myself reading these stories again. I enjoyed each one. Don't laugh, but I ended up keeping the collection for myself. My grand daughter can now borrow it from me - but this collection is mine.

These books were perfect for my second grader to read. These books are readable at his age yet still challenging enough exposing him to broader vocabulary words. I never read this books as a child, so it is my first time as well. Farmer Boy is better directed to a boy, but we've enjoyed the first two books.My grandparents owned farms and I recall many of the things described in these books. Though my children do not have these experiences, These books gives them some exposure to what life is like growing on a farm. Though a bit more romanticized than I remember...

Timeless, endearing story of pioneer life. My son loves these books. His eyes get wide hearing about the daily tasks of pioneer life. On the Banks of Plum Creek has funny and suspenseful moments, like the grasshopper plague. We have really enjoyed the audible version of these books.

I signed up for the CLEP exam as an adult back-to-school student with 8 years of professional (non-IT) work experience, so I started with a fair amount of familiarity with computer terminology as it relates to PC and business applications. However I was nowhere near ready to pass the exam on my own.Using this book, the CLEP Exam Guide PDF download (which is important and only $10), Wikipedia/Google, and careful common sense evaluation of the test questions and answer choices, it is easy to pass the CLEP. I studied for one week, about 3-4 hours per day. Young folks with little or no work experience in an office setting should take a slower pace and give it several weeks.Book content:The book is clearly written and does a good job covering most of the topics you will see on the CLEP exam. It goes into more depth about computer hardware than will be seen on the exam because the exam has evolved since the book was written. The book is several years behind the times regarding the internet and does not talk about "Web 2.0" and social media which will likely appear on your exam. This is where the CLEP Exam Guide download comes in. It tells you in detail the full range of topics that your exam may potentially cover, as well as the general weighting of each topic, and several of them are not discussed in this book. Do not ignore them. Use Wikipedia/Google as a tool to fill in the gaps.Practice Exams:The book comes with 3 online practice exams, which is a nice feature. The diagnostic exam is the most useful. Take it before you study anything and it will give you a fair sense of how strong/weak you are going in and how much studying you may need to do. Where the exams fall short is in the quality of some questions and that they miss a few topics on the actual exam. Some of the questions are poorly worded and confusing, maybe 15-20% of them, so keep that in mind when evaluating your scores. The actual CLEP exam was written better. The most important practice exam is the one that comes with the Exam Guide PDF download. Those questions come directly from the College Board and are more representative of the actual exam. Take that one last and really focus on your weak areas.Study Technique:Everyone studies in their own way, but it was much easier for me to remember the large volume of information (the content section of the book spans 260 pages) by hand-writing flash cards about each key definition or concept I came across as I read the book. I made sure that I had a flash card for every key word listed in the Exam Guide PDF, which meant I had to go to Wikipedia/Google for several terms. I wound up with over 130 cards, but it was a great way to get in quick drilling and then refer back to the book as needed.About the exam: read the questions and answer choices very carefully. Most computer terms are pretty straightforward in describing exactly what they mean. On most questions some deductive reasoning can eliminate 2 or 3 of the 5 answer choices right off the bat.In a very limited market for Information Systems CLEP review materials, this book is well worth buying and is absolutely sufficient to pass the exam with effort and a small assist from the internet.

This book contains a lot of information that is not on this test at all. This test is actually used replace a business class that is about information systems used by businesses. This book is mostly about lower level information systems topics. It does contain some information about how IT works in business, however, the book would be 1/10 of the size if it removed the information that is not applicable.In addition this book is just wrong quite often. It states many facts like "Firewire is a type of USB"... That is just wrong... Most of the errors seem to be when the author makes some absolute statement about a fact that is not absolute. So while, most of the errors won't cause you to miss a question, if you know much about IT just be prepared to be very frustrated while reading this book. Some might cause you to miss a question though. However, the fact that the book is not very well related to the actual test topics protects against this.The author also replaces definitions to technical terms with standard English definitions. IT has it's own set of definitions for terms we already use in English, so these can't be used interchangeably.Another example of misinformation in this book is in IT System Development Lifecycle. This is going to be a bit different from book to book. CLEP, in their own test preparation PDF ($10 from CLEP), specifies which one they assume in the test. However, this book uses a completely different one as the basis for teaching. If you removed any reference to CLEP this would may be correct. However, when I pay for a book titled CLEP Test Preparation, I feel like I should be able to assume the research would have at least paid the $10 for the PDF and checked for things like this.Some of the information in the book seemed up to date but some seemed outdated. Another minor problem is a lot of their practice test questions don't make a lot of sense. The CLEP test questions are well written. So this is just frustrating.In summary: My biggest concern is that this book is mostly about topics not on the CLEP test, so it is a waste of time. In addition it lacks a significant number of topics that are on the test. If you use only their testing and this book to determine if you are ready for the CLEP test be prepared for a major surprise.I bought another REA book that was very well rated. I hope this one is just a one off. I do greatly appreciate the REA system of providing you an assessment test, then a book, then two additional practice tests. However, it doesn't matter when the content is wrong.

It does an okish job of describing the type of things that are on the CLEP exam but I will warn you the actual CLEP exam is really really bad. I'm a professional C++ software developer who has taught classes in software development and got a 79/80 on the CLEP exam which the administrator said was the highest score she had ever seen.The test itself does not at all reflect real-world knowledge topics, but rather its mostly outdated information systems theory that no one actually uses in real life. Additionally many questions on the CLEP exam have questions where more than one of the given answers is equally correct when you actually know the subject matter at a deep level, so a book like this one is useful for memorizing the type of answers they want you to give (ie what answer would the highschool student in 1970 who designed this test think are correct).While this book is equally as bad as the CLEP exam about teaching/testing things that really are not technically correct or are completely stupid minor differences between terms that are really synonyms, they cover slightly different material. This book covers a lot more about computer hardware than was actually on exam, which had mostly questions about outdated 1970's-style system analysis and design and outdated questions about web technologies with multiple equally correct answers.You might actually do better on the CLEP exam if you get a book like this and memorize the terms in it rather than taking it based on expertise in computer systems. As bad as this book is, the CLEP exam is even worse.

There are proposed designs on the divider to diminish its physical solitude and to regenerate communities and natural habitats. As a student in architecture, this is a great reference for theory of how architecture can revitalize communal spaces and natural environments when there's conflict.

Head lice is not a topic you hear discussed often publicly. It is an embarrassing infestation that is more common than most imagine. The info contained in this Kindle book is brief and concisely covered. What I like most about it are the many natural remedies it offers for getting rid of head lice.

I don't know that I really need this information as I don't have lice and don't expect to. However, for those that have to deal with lice, this book gives valuable information. I suggest that it is a good read for these people.
